Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can, and only what we need to give you what you asked for.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is [FULL NAME OF OWNER], NIF [NIF], [POSTAL ADDRESS], trading as The Opus Path. Contact: hello@theopuspath.com.
The test
You can take the test without an account. Your answers are processed in your own browser and are not sent to us unless you create an account to save your result.
Your free account
To unlock your Field Guide and keep your results, you can create a free account by signing in with Google. When you do, we receive and store:
- from Google: your name, your email address and your profile picture link (we never see your Google password);
- your test results: the stage each test pointed to, your score for each stage, your answers, and the date;
- whether you asked for the weekly letter, and when.
We use this to give you your Field Guides, show you your results over time on your page, and, as the site grows, offer you new features inside your account. The legal basis is the performance of the service you ask for when you create your account (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR).
The weekly letter
Only if you tick the box, we send you a letter from The Opus Path about once a week, which may occasionally mention our own products. For that we share your first name, email address and current stage with our email provider. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time on your page, or with the unsubscribe link in every email.
How long we keep it
For as long as you keep your account. You can ask us to delete it at any time from your page ("Delete my account"), or by writing to us. The weekly letter stops at once, and we delete your account, all your results and your request within 30 days, usually much sooner. Our email provider may keep a minimal record that you unsubscribed, so that you are never emailed again by mistake.
Who else handles it
We do not sell or share your data. We use these service providers, who process it on our behalf and under contract:
- Supabase (Supabase, Inc.), to store your account and results and to deliver the Field Guides. Our database is hosted in the European Union (Ireland).
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd.), to let you sign in with your Google account.
- Kit (Kit Digital, Inc., USA), to send the weekly letter, only if you ask for it.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), to host this website and route our email.
- Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), to deliver to us the account deletion requests you send from your page.
Some of them may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, or otherwise by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies and local storage
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking tools. When you sign in, your browser keeps your session in its local storage so that you stay signed in, and a test result is kept there for a moment while you sign in. Both are strictly necessary for the service you ask for. Signing out removes your session.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable format, by writing to hello@theopuspath.com. If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
Age
Accounts and the weekly letter are meant for people aged 14 or over. If you are younger, please do not create an account.
